Getting Started with Prism

Prism is a web-based analytics platform. Start by visiting Prism and creating an account. You'll land in an empty dashboard once you're logged in.

The most important step: connect to your data. Prism supports PostgreSQL, MySQL, BigQuery, Snowflake, and 20+ other databases.

1. Click Add data source on your dashboard
2. Select your database type
3. Enter your connection details (host, port, username, password)
4. Prism tests the connection and confirms it works

Once your data source is connected:

1. Click New dashboard
2. Add a metric card: select a table, a column, and an aggregation (sum, count, average, etc.)
3. Configure filters if you want to focus on specific data
4. Add more cards to tell a complete story

Your dashboard updates in real-time as your data changes.

For more complex analysis, try the report builder:

1. Click Reports in the sidebar
2. Drag columns onto the canvas to create a table
3. Add filters, groupings, and calculated fields
4. Save and share the report as a link or schedule it as a recurring email
